These regional designations used the Farm Fresh atlas maps as very rough way to bring regional groups together at the 2009 WLFN summit in Wisconsin Rapids. You can look at the Fresh Farm Atlas regions by going to http://www.farmfreshatlas.org/ Each of the pages below include rough drafts of the notes for each regional discussion during the 3rd Annual Wisconsin Local Food Summit . We invite you to start discussion forums, etc. for your region on these pages as well.

Potential WLFN Support of Regional Efforts
  • Have regional summits bi-annually (coordinate speakers for all regions)
  • Develop statewide policy support for farm to school
  • Strengthen statewide political organization
  • Celebrate Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin
  • Provide instruction on how to affect policy
  • Tap into more institutional purchasers
  • Communicate and collaborate with other sustainability organizations such as river alliance, etc.
  • Keep at it!!!!!!
  • Follow state summit with regional gatherings
  • Ask students to help improve wiki and technical organizing tools
  • Look at food banks as institutional purchasers
  • Contact Grassworks to reach farmers in the middle
