Community Garden Partnership

The Community Garden Partnership has 6 garden rental programs and 4 teaching garden
programs. Starting as a pilot project in 1999 the Community Garden Partnership continues
its mission of "Growing food, people and communities". The basic premise of developing
an agrarian skill base for our communities to secure their local food economy is the vision
that keeps our rental sites affordable to all. We have gardens in 3 counties and encourage
you to visit our webpage at www.goodwillncw.org.

Got Dirt? Garden Initiative
This
The purpose of this initiative is to increase access to and consumption of fruits and vegetables through school, childcare and after school vegetable gardens. The initiative has the following components:

Training: Hands-on skill building experience for teachers, childcare providers and after school coordinators to prepare them to start gardens as well as how to find other expertise in their community.

Resources: The Got?Got DirtDirt? Toolkit, information on various gardening techniques (cold frames, microfarms, container gardens, and classroom activities), and ideas for nutrition education.

Funding for this initiative is provided by the UW School of Medicine and Public Health from the Wisconsin Partnership Program. For more information about the initiative go to http://dhs.wisconsin.gov/health/physicalactivity/gotdirt.htm. or contact
